Choosing the right sized bike is essential to provide an optimum fit for the rider. Our recommended ages provide a guide, but the physical size of your child will determine which bike you should choose.

Measure Their Inseam

The inside leg measurement is the most accurate way to guarantee you choose the correct size bike for your child:

1) Stand your child against the wall in the shoes they'll wear to ride with their feet slightly apart and flat on the floor

2) Place a book between their legs

3) Slide the book up the wall until it is makes contact with their crotch

4) Making sure the book is parallel to the floor, mark the wall at this point

5) Measure from that marked point on the wall to the floor

Once you have this measurement, you can then select which bike is most suitable for your child.

AIRO Balance Bike

The AIRO is ideal for younger children who are learning to balance before moving to pedals.
Balance Bike Size Inside Leg Measurement
AIRO 12" The AIRO 12" balance bike is designed for an inside leg of 30cm to 46cm
AIRO 14" The AIRO 14" balance bike is designed for an inside leg of 40cm to 53cm

HERO Pedal Bike

Once your child is ready for pedals, the HERO comes in four sizes.
Pedal Bike Size Inside Leg Measurement
HERO 14" The HERO 14” pedal bike is designed for an inside leg of 34-41cm
HERO 16" The HERO 16” pedal bike is designed for an inside leg of 40-51cm
HERO 20" The HERO 20" pedal bike is designed for an inside leg of 49-64cm
HERO 24" The HERO 24” pedal bike is designed for an inside leg of 63-78cm

If your child hasn't learned to balance yet, we'd recommend starting with an AIRO balance bike. Children who learn on a balance bike typically transition to pedals much faster.
